Ready to get a peek behind the doors of local institutions? Doors Open Calgary invites buildings in all quadrants to let Calgarians in for free. This year sees 40 sites offering behind-the-scenes experiences at some of the city’s coolest places so don’t miss it.

Doors Open is a well-established and highly successful international concept that allows people free access to buildings in order to create enthusiasm for heritage and contemporary architecture.

In fact, last year saw almost 11,000 visits in Calgary alone.

Many sites offer tours and special activities giving you a rare chance to be immersed in the city and to participate in those you are most interested in trying. Off course we always like to hit up the arts and entertainment sites, but there really is something for everyone! You can explore the Haultain School (home to Parks Foundation Calgary and Calgary Heritage Authority), Alberta Ballet’s home at the Nat Christie Centre, the Central Library, CJSW 90.9 FM’s studio, cSPACE King Edward, Lougheed House, and many more.

Doors Open Calgary takes place September 28 and 29, 2019 at venues throughout Calgary. Head to doorsopenyyc.org for the full schedule and map.
