Maestro Bergmann’s past performances as a guest conductor left a lasting impression on the orchestra’s musicians, leading him to be the successful selected candidate for the role.
“Some of the best talents I have worked with in recent years are at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and I am honoured to be selected as the incoming Music Director,” says Maestro Bergmann in a statement. “I am also excited to grow with them as we take our performances to a global stage, digitally and live. Together with the dedicated and hardworking musicians, we will make this Orchestra an important destination on the world’s musical map.”
The concert will feature Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries, Beethoven’s Symphony No.7 in A major, and many more. Classical music novices and connoisseurs alike should recognize every work.
