Driven by the beauty of the Norwegian landscape and its powerful original score, Violent centres on a young woman in the midst of a catastrophic event.

Calgary Cinematheque presents this award-winning Norwegian-language Canadian film as part of its 10th anniversary season and is a special addition to its programming. Created by Vancouver-based production company, Amazing Factory, and produced in conjunction with Calgary’s own boutique film company, Media Darling, this local screening is highly anticipated.

The film follows its lead character Dagny as she vividly recalls memories of the five people who loved her the most. The debut feature from director Andrew Huculiak, drummer for innovative Vancouver pop group We Are The City, Violent was shortlisted for competition at the Cannes Film Festival and screened as part of Telefilm Canada’s Perspective Canada.
