Something monstrous is bubbling up at the new waterpark and it’s up to Tina to figure it out before it’s too late.
Dubbed a mix of Evil Dead 2 and Jaws 3, Theatre BSMT kicks off its new horror-focused mandate with this Canadian premiere.
“A b-horror movie on stage, The Underneath is prime example of how horror theatre can be an absolute blast,” says Artistic Producer Ryan Reese. “Campy, raunchy, scary and hilarious elements all work together to deliver the perfect Halloween excursion people in Calgary crave.”
Tina, played by Emma Sinclair, is a misunderstood girl genius. But when her little sister Winnie tells her about a piece of tentacle that hisses, she begins to get uneasy. Add in a bunch of body parts washing up on shore, the world of The Underneath is an odd, scary place for sure.
The Underneath runs October 6 to 8 and 13 to 15, 2016, at the Mamdani Opera Centre (1315 7th St. SW). There’s even a special midnight performance on October 14 for fans of a good scare. Tickets are available at the door or can be reserved by email at tickets@theatrebsmt.ca.
