Featuring Tanpura, Calgary and Yellowknife choirs, and an artistic infographic roadmap, only a confident musical pillar would attempt this experiment. But then outgoing director Timothy Shantz needs to go out with a bang.
Hear Calgary’s Spiritus Chamber Choir join forces with Yellowknife’s Aurora Chorealis and conductor Margo Nightingale to present Luminosity. Together, they present British composer James Whitbourn’s haunting and mysterious sound-world using organ, viola, and tanpura. The program also features Zachary Wadsworth’s Ikonic Mass for choir and organ.
Catch Luminosity on May 11, 2019 at Knox United Church (506 4th St. SW). A pre-concert talk takes place at 7:30pm and the concert starts at 8:00pm.
