A Walk Through Blues History

Make or Break Opening Reception

Jonathan Green combines his own documentation of the so-called wilderness with appropriated images from survival books, and online images of wild landscapes. Merging them with pictures of cabins, construction sites, and modernist architecture, these camp-like spaces have the potential to work with or against the reality of nature.

Collage and Painting with Ashleigh Bartlett

A workshop that draws inspiration from Neil Campbell’s exhibition wheatfield, Ashleigh Bartlett discusses Campbell’s interest in painting on the wall, art and magic, the senses, and the importance of the human scale. With an emphasis on geometric abstraction, rule-based painting, and collage, participants will investigate scale, materials, and process, cut, paste, and paint to create a series of abstract visual outcomes. 16+ only.

Youth Jam at The Blues Can
