In connection with this year’s legalization of marijuana in Canada, the Land’s End Ensemble highlights music that explores altered states of perception, cannabis culture, and spirituality.

Break on Through to the Other Side features Omar Daniel’s Piano Trio No.1, Daniel Vacs’ haunting Viento negro for solo violin, and Franghiz Ali-Zadeh’s mystical Habil Sayagi. The concert also includes a world premiere from LE Composers Competition winner Tze Yeung Ho—shulammite (c) captures the beauty of stillness and silence.

Break on Through to the Other Side takes place at 7:30pm on February 8, 2019 at the Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall, Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary (206 University Court NW). And be sure to swing by early to catch a pre-concert talk with Vincent Ho at 6:45pm.
