Join the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Social Work for this evening where Syrian refugees and newcomers use art to express and demonstrate how they have made Canada—and Calgary—their new home.
Using various forms of artistic expressions including music, songs, poetry, and dance, see participants share personal stories of resiliency and resistance. All funds from this event go towards the families and communities left behind through the Bayte Ana Baytak civil labour organization.
The Journey to Resilience takes place at 6:00pm on January 25, 2019 at cSPACE King Edward (1721 29th Ave. SW). Traditional Middle Eastern food and beverages are included with each ticket.
