Front Row Centre Players continues anniversary season with classic musical
- Location: Beddington Theatre Arts Centre 375 Bermuda Dr. NW
- Price: $17 - $25
With one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most-loved scores, Evita is a classic for the ages. Part of Front Row Centre Players’ 30th anniversary season, fans won’t want to miss this upcoming production.
Evita charts the story of Eva Perón’s meteoric rise to sainthood. As a young woman who longs for an acting career, fame, and fortune, Eva quickly learns that her feminine wiles hold power among a culture, and a political system, run by men. Combining Latin, jazz, pop, and more traditional influences, the story follows Evita’s early life, rise to power, charity work, and death.
“Playing the role of Evita has been one of the most rewarding and challenging roles I’ve ever played. It is such an honour and I feel a real responsibility to represent her accurately,” says actor Selena Fisher in a statement. “Evita continues to be relevant to today’s political and social climate. More than 70 years after the events within the musical, the spirit that Eva Perón represented continues to offer meaning.”
Evita runs January 11 to 26, 2019 at the Beddington Theatre Arts Centre (375 Bermuda Dr. NW).
