Secret Cinema with Raeesa Farooqi
Don’t miss the last screening of the season
- Location: Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers 100, 1725 10th Ave. SW
- Price: Pay-What-You-Can
In 1997, Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers acquired over 2,500 16mm films from the Calgary Public Library and regularly screen them for the public. But there’s a catch—each time the film is kept a secret until the credits roll.
Including cult classics, animations, shorts, and documentaries, once a month, a local Calgary curator is tasked to program an evening but due to copyright reasons, the title cannot be disclosed in advance. This time around, Secret Cinema is curated by CSIF’s very own Programming & Communications Director, Raeesa Farooqi. Want a hint? Farooqi may have said that Agatha Christie is one cool cat.
The screening takes place at 7:00pm on September 18, 2018 at CSIF’s screening room (100, 1725 10th Ave. SW). Admission is by donation.
