Following its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the Calgary Underground Film Festival, artschool skateboards, and 100% SKATE CLUB present a one-night screening of Skate Kitchen.
The film tells the story of a teen girl who gets on the ride of her life when she joins an all-girl New York skateboard collective and falls for a mysterious guy in the scene.
The debut narrative feature of The Wolfpack director Crystal Moselle, she immersed herself in the lives of the skater girls and worked closely with them. The result can be seen throughout the film which combines poetic, atmospheric filmmaking and hypnotic skating sequences.
Skate Kitchen screens at 7:00pm on July 24, 2018 at the Globe Cinema (617 8th Ave. SW).
