In 1997, Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers acquired a library of over 2,500 16mm films from the Calgary Public Library and regularly screen them for the public. But there’s a catch—each time the film is kept a secret until the credits roll.

Including cult classics, animations, shorts, and documentaries, once a month, a local Calgary curator is asked to choose a film to screen but due to copyright reasons, the title cannot be disclosed in advance. This month, Secret Cinema is curated by Perla Coddington.

The co-host of weekly GLOC: Glamourous Ladies of Calgary RuPaul’s Drag Race viewing parties at Dickens Pub, Coddington’s drag aesthetic takes her love of art, fashion, and performance to the max.

The screening takes place at 7:00pm on June 20, 2018 at CSIF’s screening room (100, 1725 10th Ave. SW). Admission is by donation.
