An all-day event full of competitions and concerts, join the Western Hospitality Singers as it tips its hat to the art of a cappella.
Swing by bright and early on a Saturday morning to take in a chorus competition from 9:30 to 10:45am that features three barbershop choruses from Alberta and three high school a cappella choirs from the Calgary area. Then enjoy a barbershop quartet competition from 1:00 to 2:30pm with up to 10 barbershop quartets from around Alberta.
Both competitions are open to the public at no charge.
But the evening show is the one you won’t want to miss. With performances by Calgary’s own Western Hospitality Singers, champion barbershop quartet from California, Hi-Fidelity, a combined chorus of the three Alberta choruses, and performances from the winners of the chorus and quartet competitions, it’s sure to have you singing along.
An A Cappella Celebration takes place at 7:00pm on May 26, 2018 at the Bethany Chapel (333 Richardson Way SW).
