As a teenager struggling to find her voice, Valerie found comfort in the worlds of an old, barely famous country singer and struck up a correspondence.

Over the years their relationship became ever more entwined within the old, sad songs from his albums, and facing his mortality, a desperate decision leads the two to face themselves, each other, and the possibility of redemption.

Written by Stephen Cedars and directed by Nathan Iles, Scorpio Theatre tests the limits of romance, obsession, and pride with a night of theatre that is not to be missed.

The Old Sad Songs runs May 18 to 26, 2018 at the Joyce Doolittle Theatre, Pumphouse Theatres (2140 Pumphouse Ave. SW).
