School of Alberta Ballet features prominent work from revered Canadian choreographers

Filled with works from some of Canada’s most revered choreographers, the School of Alberta Ballet presents its 2018 Contemporary Showcase.
Collaborating with renowned Canadian contemporary dancer and choreographer, Peggy Baker, Artistic Principal Ashley McNeil says this year’s performance highlights excellence in Canadian contemporary dance. The school’s dancers in the Professional Division program train as a foundation to pursue ballet as a career.
“This show is the first of its kind for the School of Alberta Ballet. We are so blessed to represent and work of these Canadian greats,” says McNeil in a statement. “This show signifies the opportunities that our school provides to our students and we couldn’t be more excited for this occasion.”
Other Canadian choreographers featured in the showcase include Davida Monk, Sasha Ivanochko, and Graham McKelvie.
The Contemporary Showcase takes place on March 23, 2018 at the DJD Dance Centre (111 12th Ave. SE). Tickets are $25 at the door performance times at 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
