It’s time for the last Secret Cinema of 2017 and although we can’t tell you what film is on the docket, we can give you a hint—if you like David Lynch and film noirs, you’ll love this film.

In 1997, Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers acquired a library of over 2,500 16mm films from the Calgary Public Library and regularly screen them for the public. But there’s a catch—each time the film is kept a secret until the credits roll.

Including cult classics, animations, shorts, and documentaries, once a month, a local Calgary curator is asked to choose a film to screen but due to copyright reasons, the title cannot be disclosed in advance. This month, Secret Cinema is curated by CSIF’s own Production Director, Nick Haywood.

The screening takes place at 8:00pm on November 16, 2017 at CSIF’s screening room (100, 1725 10th Ave. SW). Admission is by donation and space is limited, so make sure you reserve your spot at eventbrite.ca. A limited number of tickets are available at the door as well.
